Mumbai Photo Marathon done!

nirav April 24th, 2007

It was a hell of a day! Everything in extreme: energy, photographs, hurting legs, heat, batteries and the city itself! Mumbai Photo Marathon 2007 was a great success. I should be writing a detailed note on this - the whole journey starting from the 5.26am train from Borivali station to 6.26pm back home. I would let the photos tell you the story for the time being. There are tons of (150+) photos in the gallery, and I am resubmitting the best shots on Flickr! Comments welcome!

Thanks to all the people who participated. All the people who allowed us to shoot. Kapil, Ameya Ashok S & Prakash for the contribution in organizing the event. Nikita for celebrating our engagement anniversary in this special way!

A palmist for you 6:26 Borivali Fast
Hit or Miss? The Gang

Whew! That’s the collection of some of the best images I have shot so far. Definitely the best in a single day! This was certainly worth the effort and I look forward to the next photo marathon!

Save Power!

nirav April 19th, 2007

Save Electricity Mumbai is abuzz with drives to save electricity. We have faced more energy problems in the last one year, than last five years put together. I studied energy crisis, green house effect, global warming etcetra in school. Was scared to see The Day After Tomorrow and An Inconvenient Truth (of Al Gore).

Mumbai drains a lot of electricity. Reports say that Mumbai’s demand strains the supply. High levels are meeting to discuss the issues - to decide if the city will face more load shedding or not, and the supply to other parts of the state. And earlier government had said Mumbai will not face problems.

Amongst all this, Mumbaikars are getting more aware of the problems. Billboards are sporting “I will (save electricity), Mumbai will” ads. We are putting of lights when not needed, and we are switching off the television after watching.

Save Power! I will, Mumbai will!

Match colors easily

ColorBlender

Do you face difficulties matching colors? Want to try out color combinations easily? Two interesting tools allow you to do this easily. ColorBlender and Adobe Kuler. Both are fantastic, what I like is simply the visual of colors matching automatically and showing up side by side! You can also customize colors, save for later use and more! Worth using!

Thanks to Shuklendu for the lead!
