A ‘fast’ city

Magnet April 7th, 2006

While walking to office today, a thought occured to me.This has also been the topic of debate in office many a times at lunch.”When do u say that a particular city leads a fast life, or rather the people of the city lead a fast life?”

Jignesh feels,”When a city has fast transportation, then we can call it fast!”.

Here are my thoughts on this….When you are doing a lot of things in a day, to the extent that even 24 hrs of the day seem less.Time simply flies!!… that is when u can say u r leading a fast life.
When a city gives you reasons to travel to every corner of it, for reasons like study, work or even for recreation; watever the reasons may be! In my case I travelled from Andheri to Navi Mumbai during my BE, now I come to office in Borivali and dont mind catching a movie in VT during weekends!!! The more exposure the city provides in all areas of life, thats when it becomes a fast city!

Im lucky….im part of one of world’s fastest cities - MUMBAI!!!

My Obituary

Magnet April 1st, 2006

“Dad, why Samirdada is sleeping now? Why uncle, anty are crying?” asked little Babusona.

“He’s not even talking to anyone. His cat is moving around.” He added.

Sadhan replied “He’s ill beta. You grow up and then you’ll understand everything”.

Babusona asked again “He’ll be cured soon na”?

Sadhan searched for appropriate words and replied “Probably not. He can’t be cured. He’ll not talk to you again”.

“Then who will play with me? Who teach me the computer games?”

Last of his words were lost. Samir’s mother woke up from the trauma and started crying again.

Nirav: “It’s a great loss to his family. I don’t know how many years it’ll take for them to make everything normal”.

Ashok: “Yeah, I know how much he cared for his parents. We discussed about his future plans just one month back, and he kept his family first and then his career”.

Nirav: “It’s a loss to our organization also. He had lot of potential and caliber. It’s hard to find one dedicated and loyal guy like him.”

Ashok added “I discovered his leadership abilities. He could be a great leader, not only in his professional career but his personal life also.”

“You know Samir’s my best friend. We were together from first year of engineering. And we were together every-time everywhere.” Suvo introduced himself to Anish who is also Samir’s friend.

Anish: “I’m with Samir form the 11th standard. We used to take lesson from the same teacher. He was good in his studies. But what attracted me more was his personality. He was full of new ideas and arguments”.

Suvo: “Yes we found it hard to defeat Biku in arguments.”

“Who is Biku in fact?” asked Anish.

“It was his pet name in college. He got a lot of this names, biku-da, biku-mama, biks. We shared a room. We studied together, even we made cheat together before exam. He was a good sports-man too. He was a fast bowler and good fielder.”

“I know that. He is the best” Anish added.
